Intro: OUR first game of the Northern Premier League. THE first game of the Northern Premier League. We have a strong line up and a large away turnout, but this level is extremely new to most of us involved in the club. It's an incredibly massive moment for the club, our first ever game against a Level 4 footballing side in a league campaign.

The teams enter the playing field, Hanley in their dark blue and Town in their fluorescent yellow. The "Men Unite Stand" is where the away supporters stand, singing in faith in this squad who have already proven their successful nature and winning habit. 

First Half: 

The Town defend the Half closest to the Town Faithful. 

1' Luke Nock kicks off the new season following the referee's whistle and gets the ball down towards the corner flag. Hanley work the ball up with successive corners, but Louis Jeanne uses his defensive experience to let the ball go out for the goal kick.

3' Town win their first free kick and Nock takes finds Rodney deep, who takes it back to Luke, and a drifter towards the far post finds George Boyd whose header is just wide. First chance for Town. 

7' Luke Nock with a shot in quite a bit of open field, drags the ball wide. All Wythenshawe Town at the moment. 

23' A really quiet last 15 minutes in terms of chances, with Hanley getting their foot slightly in the game, but Town have just forced a save. 

25' Offside flag raises instantly before Tom fires into an empty net.

28' Uche forces a save after some fantastic work from George Boyd. Town dominating in most areas, as Hanley chances are few and far between.

It looks like Wythenshawe have settled further, not like we ever panicked but the advantage of momentum really flexes our comfort in possession. 

36' Hanley have two corners in a row, both stopped by the shield of defenders protecting the goal line.

39' A yellow card for a Hanley player after a late and reckless challenge on Che, a nice position for an attacking opportunity. Nock to take. Danger averted. 

43' GOAL! From a corner kick, Louis Jeanne jumps highest and straight from the header, the net rattles. Brilliant goal from a well taken set piece. 2 nil!

45' A comical shot from Hanley 8, who was through on goal despite being under heavy pressure from Isaac, and his shot is extremely wide. No direction on the shot and he is ridiculed from the Town supporters just a few metres away. One minute left and Town win a corner. Poor delivery. 

Halftime! A really confident display from Town, setting the mark for what the rest of the league can expect from the newcomers!

Second Half: Hanley kick off for the second half.

47' POST! Some fabulous skill from Tom Bentham in the penalty area and his shot just bounces off the post!

49' Another close chance for Town as George Boyd's shot drags from 12 yards out wide.

55' YOU BEAUTY TOM BENTHAM! FIRST TIME SHOT ON THE EDGE OF THE BOX DRIFTS OVER THE KEEPER INTO THE TOP CORNER AND TOWN LEAD 3 GOALS TO NIL!!! All Town, in every possible way. We've got the momentum. We've got the possession. We've got the comfort.
